Car park and apartment yard: fewer cameras, more coverage
A car park has three typical jobs: knowing who drove in (number plate), seeing the whole lot at once, and getting an alert when someone moves between cars at night. These cameras are made for exactly that.
Which one?
Number plate recognition (ANPR) – reads the plate at night and at speed, can open a barrier only for permitted cars and keep a log of who came when. For apartment car parks, company yards and parking garages.
180° panoramic camera – two lenses stitched into one wide picture; one camera on the wall covers a whole yard that would otherwise take two or three.
PTZ camera – for a large lot or a long frontage: a wide overview, zooming to a plate or a face when needed.
A real-life example
An apartment building with a 40-space car park: an ANPR camera at the entrance opens the barrier for residents' cars, with a button left for visitors; two panoramic cameras on the wall cover the whole car park and the waste shed. If someone moves between the cars at night, the camera gives a warning and lights the area – usually that is enough for them to leave.
