Home and house
A camera for your home: install it yourself, watch on your phone
These cameras need no recorder, cabling or installer: connect to Wi-Fi, load the app and watch on your phone. Imou is a brand made for the home: app, Wi-Fi and an installation that needs no technician. Dahua Wireless is a step up: Wi-Fi cameras and kits that also suit a house where you may want to extend the system later.
Which one?
Flat or indoors – a pan/tilt indoor camera that follows movement and doubles as a baby or pet camera.
House yard and door – an outdoor camera towards the gate or driveway, a video doorbell at the door. Full-colour night light shows colours in the dark, not a grey picture.
No power at the spot – a battery camera, with a solar panel if needed; the battery lasts months, not days.
A real-life example
A detached house: one outdoor camera covers the driveway and the car, the doorbell shows who is at the door even when you are away, and an indoor camera in the hallway tells you when someone enters. All three in one app, recording to a memory card or the cloud. If you want cabling, a recorder and more cameras, see IP cameras – that is installer work, but the reliability is in another class.
