Dahua NVR4104HS-P-4KS3-L is a 4-channel Lite series IP recorder with 4 PoE ports and one hard disk bay. The -L is the newer version of the 4KS3 recorder: a larger PoE budget (50 W), the new NVR NEXT interface and stronger cybersecurity; smart features come from AI cameras.
Key Advantages and Features:
- 4 PoE ports, 50 W in total: Cameras get power and network straight from the recorder — no separate PoE switch needed. Up to 25.5 W per port (IEEE 802.3af/at), 50 W in total.
- AI comes from the camera: Face detection and recognition, perimeter protection and SMD (human and vehicle classification) run on all channels when the camera supports them — e.g. Dahua WizSense. The recorder has no AI chip of its own: with a standard camera you get ordinary motion detection.
- Cameras up to 12 MP: 80 Mbps incoming and recording, 60 Mbps outgoing. Decoding up to 10 × 1080p@30 or 2 × 8 MP@30.
- 4K HDMI and VGA: HDMI output up to 3840 × 2160, plus VGA up to 1920 × 1080.
- One hard disk up to 20 TB: One SATA bay; backup to USB or over the network.
- NVR NEXT interface: A modular interface built around the daily work of small and medium sites.
- Cybersecurity: Trusted boot, 802.1x, HTTPS / TLS 1.2, AES-256, IP/MAC filter, account lockout and security log.

Suited to a home, office or small site system of up to 4 cameras powered from the recorder. For face detection, perimeter protection and SMD choose AI cameras (e.g. Dahua WizSense). Hard disk not included. If the cameras have no AI but you need human and vehicle classification, choose NVR4104HS-P-4KS3 — its SMD Plus does that in the recorder itself.
