DSS Professional video base licence is the starting point for Dahua's video management platform. It comes with 16 video channels and the full platform feature set — you then grow the system one channel licence at a time.

- AI built into the platform: Face recognition, number plate recognition and video metadata from the devices are collected centrally — up to 300,000 faces and 50,000 plates in watch lists.
- Fault tolerance: Hot standby and N+M redundancy — a failed server does not stop surveillance.
- Up to 4 PB of central storage: IPSAN support for a larger archive.
- Perpetual licence: The licence does not expire — you pay once. Software updates and vendor support are a separate annual DSS Care subscription.
- Delivered as a licence key: There is no physical shipment — the key arrives by e-mail and is activated on your existing DSS server.
